Description
Internet exchanges are mostly Ethernet broadcast domains, and while most exchanges have a policy of what is allowed and is not allowed to appear on the broadcast/multicast domain of the exchanges, in practice something very different often happens.
In this talk i will share with you some of the interesting things that bgp.tools has found amongst it's membership of 100 different peering exchanges, what the overall impact of this "bad" broadcast traffic is, and how exchanges may go about fixing such problems.
Summary
I have attached the slides I am using at EuroIX, but changes/updates will happen before I present it at NetUK
